 Purchasing community services

We fund a range of services through our community service sector partners to support Western Australian children and young people, individuals and families.

The not-for-profit, non-government community services sector and government agencies have agreed to work closely together to provide quality services. Roles and responsibilities are described in detail in the WA government’s Industry Plan. The Department and the sector collectively deliver a broad and diverse range of vital human services to the West Australian community. Accordingly we acknowledge that the relationship between the Department and the sector is multi-faceted and interdependent. A funding relationship is one aspect of our overall relationship.

Government agencies are also obliged to fund services in accordance with the Funding and Purchasing Community Services Policy

The Department is committed to engaging, including and consulting with not-for-profit agencies and the community in its planning for and development of services.
