Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) carers
Need for carers from various cultures
Children from other countries and cultures who can’t be cared for by their own families will benefit from being placed with people from their own background. We are currently facing an acute shortage of carers from a range of different countries, particularly those from some specific African countries as well some specific Asian countries.
CaLD Training
Training and support is provided to carers who are caring for children who come from different cultures then their own. This training is further supported by the development of a cultural plan by Departmental workers along with the carer
